NSW police probe serious crash

Police are investigating following a two vehicle crash in Sydney’s west today, NSW Police say.

About 12.20am tomorrow, police and emergency services were called to the M7 motorway just before the Sunnyholt Road off-ramp following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers found a Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD and a taxi had crashed.

A 62-year-old man driving the taxi and a 42-year-old female passenger were trapped for a short time before being released.

Both were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and were taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

A man, woman, two children - aged 9 and 7 - and a newborn were in the Mitsubishi. All were assessed at the scene by Paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

Specialist crash investigators were also in attendance to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact Crime Stopers.
