Police investigating the 2010 disappearance of New England man, Darren Royce Willis, are re-appealing for public information believing he met with foul play, NSW Police say.
Mr Willis was last seen leaving a hotel in Maitland Street, Bingara, on the evening of Friday 10 December 2010.
Strike Force Barca was formed to investigate Mr Willis’ disappearance. Police are treating his disappearance as a suspected homicide. His body has never been found.
New England Police District Crime Manager, Inspector Ann Joy, said investigators have received a lot of valuable information from the community regarding the disappearance of Mr Willis.
"The information we have received supports investigator’s belief that Mr Willis has met with foul play," Insp Joy said.
"We have identified a number of persons of interest and they are now the focus of our inquiries.
"This is a timely reminder to anyone with knowledge of what happened to Mr Willis to come forward. Withholding information from police is a serious criminal offence.
"Detectives and members of the Bingara community are heavily invested in resolving the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
"We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has information about a yellow utility in Bingara between 2010 and 2011 and its connection to Mr Willis’s disappearance," said Insp Joy.
A $350,000 reward was announced for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the death or disappearance of Mr Willis.
Police are appealing for anyone who may be able to assist in the investigation to come forward.
