NSW Police Search for Man Missing in Lightning Ridge

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man last seen in Lightning Ridge more than a week ago.

Rexford (known as Foxy) Layton Wood, 68, was last seen at a Lightning Ridge hotel on Friday 29 March 2024.

Officers from Central North Police District were notified last night (Friday 5 April 2024), and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Foxy's welfare due to a number of health concerns.

Foxy is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of medium build, balding with a white beard, and brown eyes. It's unknown what he was wearing when last seen. He is known to frequent the Lightning Ridge area.

Anyone who may have seen Foxy or has information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Walgett Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
