NSW police search for parents or carers of young girl found at Blacktown

Police are appealing for assistance to locate the parents or carers of a child found near Blacktown Showground this evening, NSW Police say.

The girl, believed to be aged three or four, was located by a member of the public near the showground on Richmond Road just after 6pm (Friday 3 November 2017).

Officers from Blacktown Local Area Command attended and conducted a search of the area; however, were unable to locate her parents or carers.

The girl is described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, with long brown hair and brown eyes.

She is wearing a white and pink striped long-sleeved top, black and white polka dot leggings and bright pink sandals.

The girl has been taken to Blacktown Police Station while officers continue to canvass the local area.

Anyone with information about the child’s parents or identity is urged to contact Blacktown Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
