NSW police seek info after cyclist assaulted

Police are seeking the assistance of the public to identity a man they want to speak to in relation to an assault last year, NSW Police say.

Police have been told just before 9am (21 September 2016), a 57-year-old man was riding his bicycle on Robinson Avenue, near York Road, when a Black Range Rover collided with the rear of the man’s bicycle causing him to fall on the ground.

The driver then exited the vehicle and assaulted the cyclist, punching him in the face.

The man then left the location in his car last seen headed south on York Road.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command are investigating the incident and want to speak to a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being 30-40 years old with a dark complexion. He has a medium build and short dark hair. He was seen at the time of the incident wearing a t-shirt with writing on it and long pants.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
