NSW police seek info following fire

Police are appealing for information following a bush fire in the state’s Central Hunter region, NSW Police say.

About 12.45pm yesterday, emergency services were called to

the vicinity of Melbourne and Forbes Street, Abermain, following reports of a large

bushfire.

The fire threatened nearby homes and caused significant damage to bushland, however it eventually burnt out.

Police from Central Hunter Local Area Command are investigating the incident and would like to speak to three people about the incident.

Two are described as being male and about 183cm tall. One is described as wearing a shirt and the other was shirtless.

A third person, a juvenile, was also seen leaving the area on a trike.

No houses were damaged during the incident and investigations continue.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
