NSW Police Special Constable Charged With Auburn Assault

A NSW Police employee and Special Constable has been charged following an assault in Auburn yesterday.

Police commenced an investigation following an alleged assault at a supermarket in Queen Street, Auburn yesterday (Thursday 17 July 2025).

A 62-year-old man reported he had been allegedly assaulted by a 34-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman following a verbal altercation at the checkout.

The 62-year-old man suffered minor injuries and sought medical treatment after the incident.

The 34-year-old man – who is a current serving Special Constable attached to a specialist command, was served with a court attendance notice for the charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray. He will appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 4 September 2025.

The 57-year-old woman was served with a court attendance notice for the charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray. She will appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 4 September 2025

The man's employment status is under review.
