NSW SES is one of Play School's 'Everyday Helpers'

If your kids are watching Play School this week, they will see a few special appearances by emergency services personnel, including one of our NSW State Emergency Service volunteers.

Running from Monday 22 February, Play School will be running its 'Everyday Helpers' episodes, which will feature members of emergency services to talk about what they do and keeping communities safe.

NSW SES volunteer and member of our Waverly-Woollahra Unit, Mara, will be on the show to talk about our service, the equipment we use and what you can do to prepare for a storm or flood.

In this empowering new series, Play School team up with the Australian Red Cross and The Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR). With the help of some very special guests from the emergency services, ABC Kids share early childhood safety messages relevant during times of natural disaster. Through imaginary play, stories and song, Play School explore ways children can maintain a sense of agency, even during very challenging times.

Play School's "Everyday Helpers" series will premiere on ABC Kids at 9am on Monday, 22nd Feb 2021.

The series (5 x episodes) will play out in order on ABC Kids at 9am each weekday across the week, and Mara will be appearing in the fourth episode on Thursday, 25th Feb 2021.
