Severe weather has caused major to moderate flooding across the state, as the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) responds to more than 1,455 incidents relating to rainfall, thunderstorms and snow.
An Emergency Warning is current for some parts of Scone due to major flooding, and people have been asked to evacuate. A major flooding warning has also been issued for the Peel and Namoi Rivers at Tamworth, Manilla and Gunnedah.
Meanwhile, moderate flooding is expected on the Paterson and Williams Rivers at Gostwyck Bridge, Dungog and Mill Dam Falls, and minor flood warnings have been issued for the Myall, Severn, Manning, Gloucester, Macleay, Nepean, and Gwydir Rivers.
A number of flood rescues have been responded to overnight, the majority for people stuck in vehicles after driving into floodwater.
Unprecedented snowfall was recorded around Armidale and Guyra yesterday afternoon, creating dangerous road conditions. NSW SES responded as more than 100 vehicles became stuck in snow on New England Highway, Waterfall Way, Norris Drive and Grafton Road.
Meanwhile, on the Mid North Coast, significant thunderstorm activity caused damage to properties and businesses in South West Rocks, Kempsey, Macksville, Hat Head and Crescent Head.
More than 1,100 volunteers are responding throughout the state, while helicopters and high clearance vehicles have been deployed to impacted areas.
Rainfall is expected to decrease today, with totals of 20-50mm expected in 24 hours, however riverine rises remain a risk.
