ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:
Tropical low 07U is expected to move southwards on Thursday and approach the northeast Arnhem coast on Friday morning, bringing with it a risk of heavy rainfall with showers and thunderstorms. The low is expected to continue tracking southwards into Saturday and may bring a heavy rainfall risk to parts of the Carpentaria.
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast for the eastern Arnhem including Groote Eylandt on Friday. Northern parts of the warning area may experience heavy rainfall from early Friday morning, before the risk shifts southwards into the afternoon and evening. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 150 to 180 mm are possible in localised areas. Locations which may be affected include Nhulunbuy and Alyangula.
