National Transport Insurance (NTI) has today been officially welcomed as an associate member of the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).
The ATA represents the 50,000 businesses and 200,000 people in the Australian trucking industry.
"NTI has close to 45 years of experience in the insurance industry and has been a long-time supporter of Australia's trucking industry," ATA Chair Geoff Crouch said today.
"Since 1991, NTI has been an ATA Foundation Sponsor and I'm pleased that this week's meeting of the ATA General Council has welcomed them as an associate member," he said.
As an ATA associate member, NTI can participate in ATA internal committees such as the Industry Technical Council, as well as the ATA General Council.
"Throughout the years, NTI has been actively involved in ATA initiatives to improve industry safety, professionalism and viability," Mr Crouch said.
"One of the most exciting of these initiatives is our redesigned Safety Truck, to be launched later this year. This campaign will use state-of-the-art technology to educate young drivers and vulnerable road users about how they can share the road safely with trucks," he said.
NTI is also a sponsor of the ATA's National Trucking Industry Awards, recognising businesses and individuals who go above and beyond to improve their workplace and the trucking industry.
