Police and emergency services are responding to a fatal crash on Mount Smart Road, Onehunga, involving a truck and a pedestrian.
Police were called to the incident, near the intersection of Onehunga Mall Road, about 10.40 this morning.
Sadly a person, the pedestrian, has died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
The road is currently closed on Onehunga Mall Road between Trafalgar Street and Mount Smart Road.
The road is expected to be closed for some time and motorists are urged to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
