Police investigating an aggravated robbery in Kensington earlier this month have arrested one person and seized a number of motorbikes.
Officers had been making enquiries following a report of an aggravated robbery on Kensington Avenue at about 5.50pm on 7 July.
Acting Detective Sergeant Wahanui Reihana, Whangārei CIB, says three search warrants were executed at properties in Whangārei this morning.
"Police have arrested a 20-year-old man and seized three motorbikes believed to be involved in this incident.
"This man will appear in Whangārei District Court tomorrow charged with aggravated robbery and wounding with intent to injure."
Acting Detective Sergeant Reihana says Police investigations are continuing and the team are following leads to locate five others believed to be involved.
"We are following positive lines of enquiry to identify and locate the other offenders and hold them to account.
"The victim was transported to hospital at the time of the incident but thankfully is now recovering well at home."
