NZ police release name over boating incident, Fiordland

Police are now in a position to name the man who died following a boat rolling in Fiordland on Saturday afternoon.

He was 57-year-old Peter John McKenzie, of Invercargill.

Mr McKenzie and his two companions made it to shore near the river mouth at Wairaurahiri, but sadly Mr McKenzie had died by the time emergency services arrived.

Police is continuing to make inquiries in the death on behalf of the Coroner.
