NZ police release name over tramper, Makaroro River

Police can now name the tramper who died after getting into difficulty crossing the Makaroro River in the Ruahine Forest Park on Monday 1 June.

He was Edward John Hernshaw, 43, of Wellington.

Police extend their sympathies to his family and friends.

The death has been referred to the Coroner.
