O'Halloran Reappointed as Northern Territory Administrator

Her Honour the Honourable Vicki O'Halloran AO has been reappointed as the Northern Territory Administrator by the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC.

Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories Nola Marino said Her Honour will continue in her role administering key statutory, civic and ceremonial responsibilities for the people of the Northern Territory.

"The Australian Government looks forward to continuing a strong relationship with the Northern Territory Administrator, and I would like to congratulate her on her reappointment," Ms Marino said.

"As demonstrated consistently in her term to date, Her Honour brings an outstanding commitment to and knowledge of the Northern Territory community. Her ongoing advocacy and passion for the people of the Northern Territory is clear, and I am delighted that she will continue to serve Territorians with such high distinction."

The Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Michael Gunner said he is pleased the NT will continue to benefit from Her Honour's reappointment in the position.

"Her Honour is an energetic and committed advocate for the people of the Territory and during her time in office she has re-energized the role. It is a true testament to Her Honour's commitment and service to our Territory, that both the Administrator and her husband, Craig O'Halloran are held in the highest regard by Territorians. Government House continues to be brought to life through their diverse and innovative community engagement program," Mr Gunner said.

"I am pleased my nomination to extend the term of the Administrator for a further two years has been welcomed by the Australian Government. This will enable Her Honour to continue her positive work representing our community at the highest level ."
