Oakville: Police Seek Leads in Home Invasion Attempt

Police have released CCTV vision as they seek to identify two men who may be able to assist with inquiries following an alleged attempted home invasion and pursuit in Sydney's north-west on the weekend.

About 2am on Saturday 4 April 2026, emergency services were called to a property on Bocks Road, Oakville, following reports a group of people had driven a ute onto the property and allegedly smashed the windows of a home, before setting the vehicle alight.

On police arrival, four people were seen running from the property while a fifth allegedly drove from the scene in a hatchback.

Officers attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command and Highway Patrol commenced a pursuit with the driver allegedly reaching speeds of up to 120km/h in a designated 50km/h zone.

The sedan was followed to Fontana Drive, Gables, where the driver ran away.

A search began and – with assistance from PolAir, the Dog Unit, Raptor Squad, and The Hills PAC – a 17-year-old boy was arrested a short time later.

He was taken to Windsor Police Station and charged with seven offences. He remains before the court.

Police will allege the resident was threatened with a firearm. The occupants of the home – a man and a woman both aged 50 – were not injured.

Police believe the current occupants of the home were not the intended target.

As inquiries continue, officers have released CCTV vision of two man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The men are described as being of Pacific Islander appearance, approximately 18-20 years old, and about 175cm tall. One of the men has a solid build with the other a more athletic appearance.

They were seen wearing black tracksuit pants and jumpers, with both wearing surgical masks covering their faces.
