Oasis Aquatic Centre Earns Perfect Safety Score

Oasis Aquatic Centre has achieved the highest score ever recorded in a recent safety assessment with Royal Life Saving Society Australia (RLSSA), receiving 100 per cent for the 5 Star Water Safety Partner Accreditation and a 100 per cent Safety Score for the 2026 season.

The Aquatic Facility Safety Assessment (AFSA) is RLSSA's nationally recognised safety and compliance assessment for pools and aquatic facilities.

It provides staff with practical tools to ensure the facility is providing a safe environment while maintaining best practice measures.

The assessment of Oasis Aquatic Centre was conducted on 29 April 2026 and found that the facility is achieving the benchmark in relation to safe pool operations and relevant Australian and state regulations.

Manager Wagga Leisure Marc Geppert said the staff at Oasis work hard to ensure the facility is a safe environment for patrons year-round.

"Delivering on safety requirements is a huge priority for Oasis Aquatic Centre, and the staff that work here are all committed to achieving the goals set out by RLSSA," Mr Geppert said.

"The Facility Assessment Checklist is rigorous, and it requires our management team and the rest of the staff to constantly and systematically ensure everything is kept current and in line with the regulations.

"This includes emergency management plans, first aid supplies, incident report processes, and ensuring the qualifications and training of all staff are up-to-date.

"It also includes safety around the pool decks, water quality, hygiene and accessibility.

"Last year, for the same assessment, we achieved an overall safety rating of 99 per cent and a 99 per cent 5 Star Water Safety Partner Accreditation rating. These were already very high scores, so to improve on that and achieve 100 per cent for both is outstanding."
