--Europa Event Focuses on Blockchain Technology and the Education Sector

ODEM, creator of the world's first in-person On-Demand Education Marketplace, is honored to be invited to present at the Blockchain in Education at the CONNECT University (https://ec.europa.eu/futurium/en/connect-university ) conference of the European Commission

ODEM has been invited by the CONNECT University ( https://ec.europa.eu/futurium/en/connect-university ) to deliver a presentation on Blockchain in Education. The Connect University is an initiative by the European Commission's Directorate General on Communication Networks, Content and Technologies and is dedicated to exploring the future of digital and current policy work on all digital fields. Being part of a panel of policy makers and researchers, ODEM will highlight how blockchain can empower students to globally engage with top academics to create high-quality education experiences at a reasonable cost.

"We're very excited to be the only education in blockchain private company invited to present on blockchain technology and edtech," says Richard Maaghul, ODEM's Chief Executive Officer. "Europe is carefully exploring blockchain's potential and we're delighted to be included in the process."

ODEM is leading development of a collaborative, blockchain-based platform for students to customize their education. Unlike online education providers, the ODEM platform focuses on creating real-time, in-person educational courses and programs. ODEM aspires to become the Airbnb of international education.

CEO Rich Maaghul, Dr. Adel El Messiry, ODEM's technology lead, and Larry Bridgesmith, will attend the EC event in Brussels.

Blockchain technology, the encryption software that enables Ethereum and other digital currencies, "is perceived to provide significant opportunities to disrupt traditional products and services due to the distributed, decentralised nature of blockchains, and features such as the permanence of the blockchain record, and the ability to run smart contracts" according to the JRC report entitled Blockchain in Education
