Off-duty officer assaulted, woman charged with high-range PCA, NSW

A woman has been charged with high-range drink-driving and assaulting a police officer after a single-vehicle crash near Quakers Hill earlier this week, NSW Police say.

About 3.20pm on Tuesday (8 May 2018), a red Holden Barina collided with the curb at the intersection of Joseph Banks Drive and Solander Road, Kings Langley.

An off-duty police officer from the State Crime Command, observed the incident and spoke with the driver, a 43-year-old woman.

Police will allege the woman had two children, aged 10 and 11, in the vehicle prior to the collision.

Police will also allege the woman became aggressive toward the off-duty officer before punching him in the face.

Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command attended the incident and a roadside breath-test of the woman proved positive.

She was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station where she returned an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.165.

The woman was charged with use unregistered vehicle, negligent driving, assault officer in execution of duty and high-range PCA.

She will appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 28 May 2018.

The off-duty officer sustained minor injuries but did not require medical assistance.
