An off-duty police officer has been charged with drink-driving near Albury.
Just after midnight (Sunday 28 February 2021), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting stationary random breath testing on McDonald Road, Lavington, when they stopped a Holden sedan.
The driver, a 48-year-old sergeant attached to a command in the Southern Region, was breath tested and returned a positive reading.
He was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.084.
A Court Attendance Notice was served for drive with middle range PCA and his licence was suspended.
He is due to appear at Albury Local Court on Tuesday 9 March 2021.
The officer is currently on leave.
