About these tables

The datasets come from administrative data on remand and sentenced prisoners in custody, and on community sentences and post-prison offender populations. This data is collected by the Department of Corrections.

We have applied random rounding to the figures in the tables to protect confidentiality.

Next release

Prison (sentence, remand, and post-prison), community-sentence, and completed community work offender population statistics: 2025 calendar year will be released on 23 April 2026.
