Officer and angler injured at Kiama

A police officer and rock angler have been injured after the fisherman fell into the water near Kiama's Little Blowhole this morning.

Witnesses told police they saw a person enter the water around 8.50am (Sunday 4 August 2019).

Emergency services and lifesavers have responded and found the fisherman in the water. He is receiving treatment on shore from NSW Ambulance paramedics.

During the operation, a male senior constable has slipped on the rocks, sustaining a suspected fractured leg.

He is being stretchered out of the area by rescue personnel.
