Officer assaulted - Alice Springs

A 15-year-old youth has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a Police Officer in Alice Springs earlier today.

Around 9:45am Police received a report of three youth acting suspiciously behind businesses in the CBD area, Northern Territory Police say.

Officers and a Remote Piloted Aircraft were deployed after the trio fled the area, running towards Anzac Hill.

With the assistance of the Remote Piloted Aircraft, Officers located two male youth, aged 17 and 15 years, both wanted on Breach of Bail. During the arrest of the 15 year old youth, it will be alleged he physically assaulted an Officer by punching him to the head and upper body.

The pair will be charged with one count each of Breach of Bail, with the 15 year old also being charged with Assault Police and Resisting arrest.

At this time police bail has not been determined. The third youth was not located by Police.
