A police officer has been charged after allegedly accessing restricted data last year.
In September 2020, police commenced an investigation into the alleged actions of a constable attached to a command within the Central Metropolitan Region.
It’s alleged the officer accessed restricted data without authorisation.
Following inquiries, the 24-year-old man was issued a court attendance notice today (Friday 30 April 2021) for two counts of access to restricted data held in computer system.
He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 11 June 2021.
The officer’s employment status is being reviewed.
