A police officer has been charged following an investigation into alleged fraud offences.
In July 2024, police established Strike Force Drummey to investigate alleged fraudulent claims made under novated lease agreements by a police officer.
Police received reports that multiple ineligible and duplicate reimbursement claims had allegedly been submitted under four novated lease agreements between 2013 and 2021, resulting in a large sum of money being reimbursed to the account holder.
Following extensive inquiries, a 44-year-old man - a senior constable attached to a specialist command – was issued with a court attendance notice today (Friday 12 September 2025), for 44 counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.
He is due to appear before Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday 29 October 2025.
The officer is currently suspended with pay, and his employment status is under review.
