Officer charged in Alice Springs

A Northern Territory Police Officer has been charged with two offences resulting from an incident that involved a female member of the public whilst the officer was off duty. The charges being:

  • Aggravated assault; and
  • Unlawful disclosure of official information

The 35-year-old male has been bailed to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 12 May 2021.

The officer has been suspended from duty and the matter is under investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

As the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
