Officer Charged in Domestic Violence Assault

An off-duty police officer has been charged following an investigation into an alleged domestic violence related assault.

Yesterday (Wednesday 5 August 2026), officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command attended a home in Beaconsfield, after reports of a domestic incident.

On arrival, police were told a 39-year-old man had allegedly shoved a woman known to him during an argument.

Following inquiries, police arrested the 39-year-old man, a senior constable attached to a Specialist Command, before taking him to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with common assault (DV).

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 12 August 2026.

The officer's employment status is under review.
