Officer Charged in Domestic Violence Case 6 August

A serving police officer has been charged over an alleged domestic violence incident in Sydney's inner west.

In June 2026, police commenced an investigation following a report that a female sergeant attached to the Central Metropolitan Region allegedly assaulted a 50-year-old woman known to her at a home in Lilyfield on Thursday 8 January 2026.

The incident is alleged to have occurred while the 46-year-old sergeant was on duty.

It will be further alleged the 46-year-old sent the 50-year-old woman a number of threatening texts.

Following inquiries the officer was yesterday (Wednesday 5 August 2026) served with a Court Attendance Notice for common assault and use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

She is due to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 25 September 2026.

The officer's employment status is under review, and she remains in the work place on restricted duties.
