A police officer has been charged with allegedly assaulting a staff member while off-duty at a north west Sydney hotel last year.
On Sunday 22 September 2024, police received a report of an alleged assault at a licensed premises at Kellyville Ridge.
The hotel manager, a 33-year-old man, was allegedly struck by a patron with a bar stool following a verbal disagreement. He suffered swelling and bruising to his face.
Following extensive investigations, a 46-year-old man – a sergeant attached to a command in the North West Metropolitan Region – was issued a court attendance notice today (Friday 25 July 2025), for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
He is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 11 September 2025.
The officer is not currently in the workplace.
