Officer charged - Northern Region 18 May

A police officer has been charged following an investigation into alleged domestic violence related offences.

In December 2022, officers attached to the Professional Standards Command established Strike Force Drove to investigate reports of historical domestic violence related incidents between 2017 and 2021.

Following inquiries, a 31-year-old senior constable - attached to a command in the Northern Region - was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Wednesday 17 May 2023), for two counts of common assault (DV).

He will appear in Lismore Local Court on Wednesday 5 July 2023.

The officer's employment status is under review.
