An officer has been charged following an alleged domestic violence incident last week.
About 10.30pm on Friday 2 October 2026, police were called to an address in the state's north following reports of a domestic violence incident.
Officers spoke to all parties involved and no injuries were reported.
Police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, a 44-year-old male senior constable – attached to a Northern Region Command - was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for one count of common assault (DV) yesterday (Thursday 8 October 2026).
He is due to appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court on Thursday 26 November 2026.
His employment status is under review.
