Officer charged - Specialist Command 21 October

A police officer has been charged after allegedly breaching an apprehended violence order (AVO).

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District received a report that a 45-year-old woman had allegedly breached an AVO on Monday 2 October 2023.

Following inquires, police issued the woman – a senior constable attached to a specialist command – with a court attendance notice on Thursday (19 October 2023), for two counts of contravene prohibition or restriction in AVO.

She is due to appear before Belmont Local Court on Monday 4 December 2023.

The woman is currently suspended with pay, with a review into her employment status ongoing.
