Officer charged - Specialist Command

A serving police officer has been charged with larceny following the alleged theft of police equipment.

In July 2018, officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command commenced an investigation into the alleged theft of police-owned camera equipment.

About 10.30am today (Thursday 12 September 2019), a 47-year-old senior constable, attached to a specialist command, was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for larceny and dishonestly obtain financial advantage.

He is due to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 29 October 2019.

The officer is currently on long term sick leave.
