Officer charged - Western Region

A serving police officer in the state's west has been charged with assault.

The 38-year-old male senior constable, who is attached to the Western Region, was today (Wednesday 6 November 2019) issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for common assault (x2), and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The charge relates to an incident while the officer was on duty on Friday 28 December 2018.

He is due to appear before Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 22 January 2020.

The officer currently remains suspended with pay.
