An off-duty police officer has been charged after an alleged assault in Sydney's inner west yesterday.
Just after 4am (Wednesday 3 December 2025), police were called to a home in Mortlake following reports of an alleged assault.
Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command were told a 21-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by a man known to her at another home in Mortlake.
The woman was taken to Concord Hospital for treatment of facial and leg injuries.
About 1pm on Wednesday 3 December 2025 police arrested and charged a 28-year-old man – a probationary constable attached to a Central Metropolitan Region Command.
He was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (domestic), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage cause actual bodily harm (DV), break and enter intend to commit serious indictable offence, possess prohibited drug, and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.
He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 4 December 2025).
The officer's employment status is under review.
