Officer charged with mid-range PCA, NSW

A police officer will face court after being caught allegedly drink driving in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 1.20am (Sunday 3 February 2019), officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Hurley and Dumaresq streets, Campbelltown, for the purpose of a roadside breath test.

The driver – a male senior sergeant attached to a specialist command – returned a positive result and was arrested.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.145.

The officer was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for mid-range PCA and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday 12 February 2019.

His licence has been suspended.

The officer's duty status will be reviewed.
