Officer hit by stolen car - Mont Albert

A police officer has been injured after being struck by an allegedly stolen car in Mont Albert this morning.

Officers were called to Laing Street after reports of a suspicious vehicle.

Police drove into Laing Street and spotted the white BMW sedan.

The BMW reversed into Victoria Crescent and then drove forward, hitting two police cars.

The car then reversed back but was boxed in by another police unit.

Members approached the BMW and officers deployed OC spray on the driver as the vehicle started reversing again.

The sedan hit the male Leading Senior Constable in the leg before driving off.

An ambulance was called and the offer taken to hospital.

Police are yet to locate the BMW or its occupants and the investigation is ongoing.
