Officer issued with notice to appear, North Coast Region

A 51-year-old male senior constable from the North Coast Region has been served with a notice to appear for an alleged Weapons Act offence.

The officer has been stood down from duty with the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on May 16.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.

This matter is unrelated to the accidental discharge of a firearm in Childers on Thursday April 27.
