Officer one of three charged with fraud offences, NSW

Three people, including a police officer have been charged with fraud offences, NSW Police say.

Following an in investigation into alleged insurance fraud, investigators from the Professional Standards Command executed search warrants at homes in Engadine and Kirrawee yesterday (Tuesday 13 November 2018), with a number of items seized.

A female senior sergeant, attached to a specialist command, was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station.

She has been charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, and misconduct in public office.

A 23-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were also arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station.

The woman was charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception.

The man was charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, participate in criminal group, and drive whilst disqualified.

All have been granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 4 December 2018.

The trio are all known to each other.
