Officer suffers facial injuries intervening in hotel fight - Coogee

Three people are in custody and a police officer has facial injuries after he was assaulted at a hotel in Coogee overnight.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were called to the hotel on Coogee Bay Road about 9pm (Saturday 24 August 2019), after staff had concerns about the behaviour of a number of patrons.

The constable suffered facial injuries when he intervened in a fight between patrons. He's been taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.

A man – who was a patron at the hotel – is under arrest but has also been taken to Prince of Wales Hospital where he's being checked for a shoulder injury.

A man and a woman remain in custody at Maroubra Police Station.
