Officers issued with Notice to Appear, South Eastern Region

Two police officers have been charged with perjury and common assault in relation to matters arising out of an incident that occurred on the Gold Coast on June 13, 2015 and a later coronial inquest in March 2017.

The officers, both senior constables, one being a 57-year-old man and the other a 30-year-old man, from the South Eastern Region will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 April 2020.

Both officers have been stood down from duty with the Queensland Police Service.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.

This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
