Oil and Gas and Digital Infrastructure delegation to USA

Department of the Chief Minister

Public servants and industry advisors will join Minister Lawler on a nine day oil and gas infrastructure and digital investment attraction trip to the United States of America today.

The trip from 12 November to 21 November will focus on natural gas infrastructure planning, business attraction for natural gas-related petrochemical facilities, downstream gas processing and workforce planning for the industry.

The trip will also present Darwin as a potential international digital connectivity and data hub between Australia, South East Asia and the United States.

The priority will be supporting the first under water data cable system which links Darwin, Singapore, Indonesia and the IndoPacific region to the United States.

This high speed and secure link will change Darwin's position to a leader within the international telecommunications environment.
