Older meters being replaced

- City of Ballarat Director of Infrastructure and Environment Terry Demeo

Meters that are reported faulty are checked by the meter mechanic and reset.

These particular machines will be replaced as part of Council's Smarter Parking Plan currently being rolled out.

These machines are the older type which Council has been replacing.

Current ticket machines cost approximately $8000 each but Council is currently going through a tender process for the supply of new machines as part of the parking strategy.

There will not be a hold on fines from these machines.

If anybody experiences issues when using the meter they should make a faulty meter report by ringing the phone number that is on the meter.

New parking technology, including apps, is part of the Smarter Parking Plan tender process which is currently underway.
