OMCG associate charged with drug supply and firearms offences, NSW

An associate of the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) has been arrested on outstanding warrants and charged with drug and firearms offences in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Detectives from the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor and Macquarie Fields Local Area Command commenced an investigation last month into the supply of methylamphetamine in south-west Sydney.

Following extensive inquiries, a 32-year-old man was arrested by investigators at a home on Malbec Place, Eschol Park, just after 5.15pm on Wednesday (26 July 2017).

Officers located a shortened .22 calibre rifle in the backyard, which was seized for forensic examination.

A crime scene warrant was executed at the home shortly after, where police seized ammunition, a scope, mobile phones, encrypted mobile phones, ice, MDMA and steroids.

In addition, officers located a boxed clandestine laboratory, which was later examined and dismantled by officers from the Drug Squad’s Chemical Operations Team.

The man was taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station and charged with possess prohibited firearm, possess unregistered prohibited firearm, acquire prohibited firearm subject to FPO, possess ammunition, acquire ammunition subject to FPO, not keep firearm safe, resist arrest and two outstanding warrants for possess firearm and revocation of parole.

He was also charged with a further 11 offences including the possession and supply of prohibited drugs, which relate to items seized during a search warrant at a business at Minto on 28 July 2016.

The Minto man was refused bail and appeared at Campbelltown Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 27 September 2017.

Investigations are continuing.
