OMCG's arrested for criminal association, South Australia

SAPOL's Crime Gangs Task Force have arrested and charged six men associated with the Comanchero and Nomads OMCG for criminal association.

Police will allege that on Saturday 12 June, three members of the Nomads OMCG attended at a licensed premises on Rankine Street, Strathalbyn.

Police will also allege that on Sunday 15 August, three members of the Comanchero OMCG attended a licensed premises at Cardigan Street, Angle Park.

It is an offence for two or more participants of a declared criminal organisation to be present in a public place. This is an offence that carries a mandatory custodial sentence.

"While this investigation is not directly related to Operation Ironside, it does demonstrate SAPOL's commitment to ensuring that members of the Nomads and Comanchero OMCG's and indeed all OMCG's, are prevented from engaging in criminal behavior ", said Detective Chief Inspector David Scutchings, Officer In Charge of the Crime Gangs Task Force.

Those arrested at Strathalbyn were –

  • A 33-year-old man from Strathalbyn - arrested on 2 September.
  • A 33-year-old man from Christies Beach - arrested on 28 August.
  • A 38-year-old man from Christies Beach - arrested on 26 August.

All three men were bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 16 September.

Those arrested at Angle Park were -

  • A 28-year-old man from Andrews Farm - arrested on 25 August and bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 25 October.
  • A 35-year-old man from Kilkenny - arrested on 1 September and bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 13 October.
  • A 29-year-old man from Glandore - arrested on 26 August and bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 25 October.
