Omeo's Visitor Economy Future Unlocked in E. Gippsland

The future of Omeo's visitor economy is set to take an exciting step forward, with the community invited to help shape the vision at a special presentation and drop-in session later this month.

The Future of the Omeo Visitor Economy presentation will showcase two major economic development projects: the Omeo Tourism Ecosystem Mapping Report and the Draft Justice Precinct Masterplan.

The Ecosystem Mapping Report provides a roadmap for tourism growth, spotlighting heritage and outdoor recreation as key strengths. The Draft Justice Precinct Masterplan takes a closer look at one of Omeo's most significant heritage assets, exploring how the precinct can be reimagined as a vibrant hub for cultural, civic and visitor experiences.

This is more than an opportunity to hear from Council - it's about shaping Omeo's next chapter together.

The sessions are designed to listen to the community, capture local aspirations, and find practical ways to turn them into action. By aligning big-picture strategy with community ideas, these projects have the potential to unlock investment, activate heritage spaces and strengthen Omeo's role as a gateway to the High Country.

The community is invited to attend the presentation on Thursday 18 September from 5.30 pm to 7.00 pm at the Omeo Community Hub, with light catering and refreshments provided.

For those unable to make the evening session, an informal drop-in will be held the following morning from 9.30 am to 11.30 am at the Omeo Community Hub.
