On-Farm Emergency Water Rebate Scheme

To date, 43applications have been approved out of the 63 received, with more awaitingsign-off.

The Scheme supportseligible primary producers in the Northern Territory by providing a 25 per centrebate for up to $25,000 per property per annum for the purchase andinstallation of operational water infrastructure that manages the welfare oflivestock and improves drought resilience.

DPIRs Executive Director Agriculture DivisionPhil Hausler said the department had received applications from all parts ofthe Territory, with most coming from the Barkly, Tennant Creek and AliceSprings pastoral districts

The number ofapplications has exceeded expectations and its great to see that people arewilling to take advantage of this assistance, he said.

The opening of theScheme was announced on 29 March this year by the Hon Paul Kirby, Minister forPrimary Industry and Resources.

Funding has been provided for the implementation of theScheme by the Australian Governments Department of Agriculture. Three milliondollars was made available to support the Scheme across the NT.
