One arrested after Kensington Park break-in, South Australia

A teenager has been arrested and police are searching for a second suspect after a break-in and theft at Kensington Park this morning.

Police will allege that about 4.15am today (Tuesday 28 April) patrols were called to a house in Park Road, after reports that two youths had broken into the property and stole a Mercedes Benz sedan.

The car was spotted by patrols on the Port River Expressway where it was pursued briefly, until the pursuit was terminated due to the erratic driving of the Mercedes.

The car was later seen on Frederick Street at Mansfield Park, and it was abandoned soon after in Dudley Street about 4.50am.

The two suspects ran from the vehicle, and one was arrested nearby in Hampshire Street. The 17-year-old boy will face numerous charges including aggravated serious criminal trespass and illegal use of a motor vehicle, and it is expected that he will be refused bail to appear in court later today.

Police are following positive lines of enquiry regarding the second suspect, and anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
