One arrested after police pursuit at Edwardstown, SA

A youth has been arrested following a short pursuit with a stolen ute which crashed at Edwardstown overnight, according to SA Police.

Just before midnight on Saturday 6 October, a police patrol was on Angus Avenue when the saw a silver Nissan ute travelling east with a right rear flat tyre.

The patrol activated the emergency flashing lights, but the driver of the ute vehicle failed to stop and it was followed east on Angus Avenue to the train line, where the driver lost control and hit a stobie pole then a parked car.

The three occupants of the car ran from the vehicle, a passenger was quickly arrested, but the driver and another passenger were quicker and escaped from the area.

An extensive search was conducted for the two remaining offenders, including the use of the a police dog patrol and PolAir ( the police helicopter) but there weren't located.

Police enquiries are continuing. Fortunately there were no injuries from the incident.

The stolen ute which was stolen from South Plympton earlier in the night and the parked car were extensively damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene.

A 17-year-old youth from Edwardstown was arrested for illegal use and has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court at a later date.
